Alyse Alban

Alyse Alban is an associate attorney serving clients in the State Compliance and Tax, Fundraising, and International Practice Groups. She assists the firm’s nonprofit clients with regulatory compliance amidst a multi-state patchwork of charitable solicitation and other registrations along with annual filings. Additionally, Alyse handles the intricacies of international law in connection with IRS-required equivalency determinations for nonprofit grantmaking activities.

Prior to joining Wagenmaker & Oberly, Alyse worked at the law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, working on general commercial litigation matters in a wide variety of industries. While at Morgan Lewis, she also maintained an active pro bono practice. Alyse also clerked for the Honorable William J. Bauer, on the Seventh Circuit United States Court of Appeals. Her extensive background in legal research, writing, and advocacy have shaped her ability to evaluate and address client needs in a detailed and thorough manner.

Alyse earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she received the CALI Award in Legal Writing I and served as the Student Articles Editor for Loyola’s International Law Review. Alyse has actively shared her writing skills through tutoring, mentorship, and publications. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee.

Outside of practicing law, Alyse loves finding fun ways to live liturgically with her husband and their two sons, traveling to both new and familiar places, and staying active through running.
