Ben Foerster

Paralegal

Ben is a paralegal who serves Wagenmaker & Oberly’s clients with a passion for all aspects of nonprofit work. Within the firm’s Corporate Practice Group, Ben focuses on preparing core governance documents, particularly to help nonprofit clients effectively address the intricacies of nonprofit law and to correspondingly leverage mission growth.

Most recently before joining Wagenmaker & Oberly, Ben was the executive assistant for Cliff Colnot Music, Inc., managing the production, disbursement, and cataloguing of new works by Chicago-based composer Cliff Colnot. Ben also participated as a Fellow with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. The fellowship empowers participants to realize their full potential as artistically excellent, civically engaged, collaborative and entrepreneurial musicians. Partnering with international nonprofits, Ben performed in and facilitated a broad collection of musical projects that focused on community investment, education, and inclusion.

Ben earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and a Master of Music degree from DePaul University.

Outside of his work at W&O, Ben is a professional freelance upright bassist, performing with several prominent local Chicago ensembles and various orchestras across the country.
