Jamie Dunn

Associate

Jamie Dunn is an associate attorney in the Employment and Risk Management Practice Groups. She assists nonprofit clients with navigating employment protection issues including hiring, firing, contracts, and increasingly complex legal compliance.  Additionally, she handles risk management matters such as child protection policies, program waivers and consents, and HIPAA-related compliance for sensitive medical information involving nonprofits.

Priorto joining Wagenmaker & Oberly, Jamie worked as an associate litigating nursing home cases at another Chicago law firm. Gaining experience advocating for clients and preparing cases for trial helped Jamie obtain critical knowledge in managing risks and collaborating with clients to understand and solve their legal needs.

Having extensive experience both volunteering or interning in the nonprofit sector, Jamie has deep appreciation for the work of nonprofits and desires to assist them with advancing their goals.

Having extensive experience both volunteering or interning in the nonprofit sector, Jamie has deep appreciation for the work of nonprofits and desires to assist them with advancing their goals. Her varied professional work experience and education have well prepared her for serving Wagenmaker & Oberly’s nonprofit clients.  Among her nonprofit responsibilities, Jamie previously interned with the Cook County Human Trafficking Task Force and World Relief, and she currently serves as a Council Member on the International Justice Mission Chicago Council.

Jamie graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she worked as the Program Administrator of the Constitutional Law Colloquium. She also served as President of Loyola’s Christian Legal Society chapter and was the Program Coordinator of the Domestic Violence Practicum.

Before law school, Jamie worked at Northwestern University as a Program Coordinator, managing day-to-day operations and implementation of a master’s program. Prior to that, she earned a Master of Public Health from Northwestern University with a focus in Global Health. Jamie earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, after which she worked for an IT company providing IT customer support for several laboratories.

Through Jamie’s legal and non-legal background, she has developed a wide toolbox of skills and capabilities including cross-cultural dimensions. She is keenly aware of the enormous societal, personal and other benefits of serving nonprofits with excellence and great joy.

Outside of the office, Jamie enjoys hiking, camping, attempting new daring recipes, and catching up with friends and family.
