Jillian Nelson

Partner

Jillian Nelson is a partner who provides legal support and guidance to Wagenmaker & Oberly's diverse group of tax-exempt organizations and other clients. With more than ten years of federal government practice experience, she brings expertise about a wide range of employment issues including hiring, discipline and termination procedures, staff safety and security, and organizational policies and related best practices. In addition, Jillian assists clients with various fundraising matters including donation agreements, fiscal sponsorship, and multi-state charitable solicitation registration and reporting. Jillian provides guidance to clients navigating allegations of impropriety and investigations. Her extensive litigation background is also valuable for our firm's clients involved in a variety of conflicts.

Prior to joining Wagenmaker & Oberly, Jillian served as an Assistant Regional Counsel in the Office of General Counsel for the Social Security Administration and a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in various federal court jurisdictions. She also served as staff counsel for the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United State Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
